(Los Angeles, Calif.) May 29, 2009 - Universal Music Group/Dream Records artist PRESS PLAY is climbing the charts with their debut project, Life is Beautiful. Releasing nationwide on May 19, 2009, the CD debuted this week at #2 on the Billboard Christian chart and #45 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. PRESS PLAY also peaked at #3 on the iTunes Top Christian and Gospel chart on its street date last week.
Bringing deeper meaning to the debut band’s iTunes success, PRESS PLAY works continuously at the L.A. & N.Y. based Dream Center inner-city outreach locations and is donating all proceeds from the Life is Beautiful project, to the work of the Dream Center, to see lives transformed.
The Dream Center, founded 14 years ago by Matthew Barnett, is a non-profit outreach dedicated to providing food, clothing, shelter and daily needs to over 40,000 people every week, in the Los Angeles market alone. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the Dream Center is providing solutions to our community and society’s troubling issues, such as human trafficking, abandoned teens, gangs, homeless families, drugs and violence.
The first recorded project from Dream Records band Press Play, Life is Beautiful is a powerful 13-track CD that features songs written and performed by Press Play members, featuring guest appearances by top performers such as Tyler Williams (Everybody Hates Chris), IROCC and Darlene Zschech (Hillsong) and the current radio single, “Life is Beautiful” continues to climb the Christian radio charts, currently in the Top 15 of the CRW CHR radio charts.
The band continues to tour nationwide, playing numerous festivals, national events and major market churches each week. They also play before 4,000 people weekly in their home church, Angelus Temple, at the Dream Center each Sunday in L.A. and the newly launched NYC location each Monday evening at the Promise Theater near Times Square in Manhattan, NY.
